About

Selina Javaid is a mum of two little ones, an artist and educator based in North London with mixed Austrian and Indian heritage.

Her lifelong interest in belonging and sense of place has led her to investigate themes around otherness and identity.

Originally a photographer and video artist, she explored the dynamics of relationships impacted by technology. This became all the more relevant during Covid when she picked up her paint brushes and painted for therapy when close relatives passed away and she couldn't see them.

Her current work ranges in scale and medium and favours a sensory appreciation for the everyday and records her sense of wonderment with the world.
